About Our Host

Lou Manfredini only has two things going for him: experience and credibility. His beginnings as a carpenter quickly became a 20 plus year career as a professional home builder and remodeler. His knowledge of homes, inside and out, lets him take the intimidation out of any project.

Since 1995 homeowners have been calling in to Lou's three-hour Mr. Fix It program on WGN radio in Chicago. He is a regular contributor to NBC's Today Show, and has been read by millions as Home Improvement Editor for USA Weekend Magazine. Lou Manfredini's Home Improvement Minutes, his syndicated radio feature airs in over 170 markets around the country. He is one of the Executive Producers and Host of the nationally syndicated news magazine TV show House Smarts. In a typical month Lou helps millions of readers, listeners and viewers better maintain and improve their homes. Lou is the author of a series of House Smarts (Ballantine Books) books. In his fun, friendly, fully illustrated guides for both inexperienced and seasoned homeowners, he takes them through their entire house and around the yard, showing them how it all works and what to do when it doesn't.
